Mother’s Basement et Tenleid à Nadeshicon!
Youtubeur canadien d’influence, Geoff Thew se distingue de ses pairs de par son approche analytique des anime, et plus particulièrement de leurs séquences d’ouverture. Il s’est aussi récemment donné comme mission de sensibiliser la population à divers dangers cachés dans les anime, à travers sa série Public Service Anime.
Sa partenaire de vie et de création, Tenleid a depuis plus de 6 ans déjà dédié ses talents de couturière au cosplay, et n’a depuis cessé d’incarner de nouveaux personnages. Principalement connue pour ses cosplays de la série Persona et de DC Comics, elle assiste Geoff dans sa carrière sur Youtube lorsqu’elle n’a pas les doigts occupés à créer quelque cosplay.
Venez les rencontrer à Nadeshicon où ils donneront panels et séances d’autographe! Qui sait, vous pourriez recevoir la bénédiction du pape de l’animation!

Anime Pope and notorious Canadian anituber, Geoff Thew is well-known for his in-depth, analytical approach to anime, especially when it comes to opening sequences. More recently, he has taken it upon himself to raise awareness for various problems anime characters face by releasing a series of Public Service Anime; you may want to give them a look, else you may never see the danger coming.
His partner both in life and in creation, Tenleid has been using her seamstress skills for cosplay for over 6 years now. A character one day, another the next, her hands always seem to be at work creating her next outfit. Best known for her cosplays from the Persona series and DC comics, she helps Geoff run his Youtube channel when she’s not busy making anime real.
Come meet them at Nadeshicon, and maybe even get the blessing of the Anime Pope alongside his autograph!

Chef d’orchestre et lauréat d’un Grammy, Arnie Roth est un artiste dont la liste des contributions à l’univers musical ne cesse de s’allonger. Principalement connu dans notre milieu pour son travail aux côtés de Nobuo Uematsu et pour Square Enix, il dirige les concerts symphoniques Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY et A New World: intimate music from Final Fantasy, ce dernier qui sera de passage à Québec le samedi du festival! Venez rencontrer cet esprit prodigieux qui donne vie aux harmonies qui continuent de nous enchanter.

Grammy-winning conductor and musical director, Arnie Roth is an artist whose list of contributions to the musical world never stops expanding. Mostly known in our community for his work alongside Nobuo Uematsu and for Square Enix, he conducts Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY and A New World: intimate music from Final Fantasy, the latter performing in Québec City on the Saturday of Nadeshicon! Don’t miss this chance to meet one of the great minds who bring our beloved fantasy worlds to life!

Your favorite anime opening has you singing like a bird every time you hear it? You look up to japanese singers and hope to one day meet them as equals? Grab your mic, it’s time to shine!
Friendly singing contest, the Nadeshicon Idol will put your voice, your Japanese pronounciation, your knowledge of the lyrics, and, last but not least, your presence to the test through a live show. You may find the rules and evaluation criterias here, in French, here.
Rumor has it a certain mysterious challenger may enter the contest once again. Brace yourselves…
Nunumi à Nadeshicon!
Artiste ayant travaillé sur diverses productions d’animation d’ici, Christine Dallaire-Dupont a récemment vu sa BD auto-éditée, Sky Rover, choisie comme Jury Selection dans la Division Manga du Japan Media Arts Festival. Invitée au Japon dans le cadre du festival, elle y a donné plusieurs conférences et ateliers dans le cadre d’une tournée.
De retour au Québec, elle sera à Nadeshicon pour partager son expérience, tant celle qu’elle a vécu au Japon que celle qu’elle a acquis à travers les années, crayon en main. N’oubliez pas d’emmener votre matériel de dessin et vos ciseaux pour ses ateliers, et courez la chance de gagner une licence d’un an pour Clip Studio Paint!

Nunumi to guest at Nadeshicon!
Christine Dallaire-Dupont, also known as Nunumi, is an artist who has worked on numerous animated productions created here. Her self-published comic, Sky Rover, was chosen as Jury Selection in the Manga category of the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival, which led her to tour all over Japan to give conferences and workshops on her art.
Now back to cold and icy Canada, she will be hosting various panels and workshops at Nadeshicon to share her experience, both the one in Japan and the one she has acquired pen in hand. Don’t forget to bring your drawing supplies and scissors to the workshops, and who knows, you may win a one year license for Clip Studio Paint!
